What you need for the cork trivet pumpkin cover crochet pattern

cotton yarn 4 medium in orange, green, and brown colors

crochet hook size H 5.0mm – I love the Clover brand

Abbreviations:
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
dc – double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
sc – single crochet
tr – treble
sc2together – crochet two single crochet together – decrease
rep – repeat
Ch3 works as dc.
1. ch4, sl st in first ch to form a ring,
2. ch3, dc, *ch1, 2dc* x5, ch1, sl st to top ch of ch3 (6dc pairs).
3. sl st to next ch1 space, ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc, *ch1, 2dc, ch1, 2dc in next ch space* x5, ch1, sl st to top ch of ch3.
4. sl st to next ch1 space, ch3, 2dc into same ch space, *ch1, 3dc into next ch1 space* x11, ch1, sl st to top ch of ch3.
5. sl st to next 2 dc and sl st to next ch1 space,
ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc, *ch1, 2dc, ch1, 2dc in next ch space* x11, ch1, sl st to top ch of ch3
6. sl st to next ch1 space, ch3, 2dc into same ch space, *ch1, 3dc into next ch1 space* x23, ch1, sl st to top ch of ch3.
7. ch1, sc in 2 next dc and 2sc in ch1 space around, sl st to first sc.
8. ch1, sc in every sc around, sl st to first sc.
9. ch1, *sc in next 3sc, sc2tog* rep around, sc in last 2sc, sl st to first sc
10. ch1, *sc in next 2sc, sc2tog* rep around, sc in last 2sc, sl st to first sc.
11. ch1, sc in every sc around, sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in the yarn tail to the left side of the cover.
You can put the cover on the cork trivet now and see how the trivet with the crochet pumpkin cover looks from the bottom.

VINE
Sl st brown yarn anywhere close to the edge of the trivet cover. Ch16, sc into 2nd ch from the hook. Sc in next 14ch. Sl st by the fist sl st. Make a knot with the brown yarn tails on the left side of the cover.
LEAF
1. make a magic ring, work 10hdc into the ring, turn
2. 2hdc in every hdc (20), turn
3. (2hdc, 2dc) in first st, 3tr in next st, dc in next st, (dc, hdc) in next st, hdc in next st, 4dc in next st, hdc in next 2sts, dc in next st, 3tr in next st,
2ch picot (ch2, sl st in 2nd ch from the hook),
3tr in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next 2sts, 4dc in next st, hdc in next st, (hdc, dc) in next st, dc in next st, 3tr in next st, (2dc, 2hdc) in the last st.
Sl st into the magic ring, cut the yarn, leaving a longer tail. Pull the yarn tail through the ch. Attach the leaf to the trivet pumpkin cover right by the vine. Sl st the two leaf yarn tails to the wrong side of the cover and make a knot.
