Easy To Crochet Pine Trees Winter Wonderland Scene

Looking at all the white snow covering part of the world, inspired me to design easy to crochet pine trees and arrange them on my cake stand. It makes a beautiful winter wonderland scene and it’s the next idea for my cake stand décor series. I liked the autumn crochet table centerpiece so much, that I decided to make a cake stand decoration for Christmas as well.

What you need for easy to crochet pine trees

Large Pine Tree

Using green yarn and crochet hook size E- 3.5mm

1: Ch 2

2: 6sc in the second ch from the hook (6)  – work in rounds NO slip stitching

3: 2sc in each sc around (12)

4: 2sc in each sc around (24)

5: (2sc in next sc, sc in next 2sc) x4 (32)

6: Sc in each sc around (32) – start slip stitching (ss) skipping ch1 and ss to first sc

7: Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (32)

8: Ch1, sc in each sc around (32)

9: Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (32)

10: Ch1 (sc2tog, sc in next 6 sc) x4 (28)

11: Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (28)

12: Ch1 (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) x4, sc in 4sc (24)

13: Ch1, sc in each sc around in back loops (24)

14: Ch1, sc in each sc around (24)

15: Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (24)

16: Ch1 (sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc) x4 (20)

17: Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (20)

18: Ch1 (sc2tog, sc in next 4sc) x3, sc2tog (16)

19: Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (16) – stuff the tree with fiberfill

20: Ch1 sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) x2, sc in 4sc (14)

21: Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (14)

22: Ch1 (sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc) x2, sc2tog (11) – ss with white yarn

23: Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (11)

24: Ch1, sc in next 3sc, sc2tog, sc in next 4sc, sc2tog (9) – stuff more fiberfill

25: Ch1, sc in each sc back loop around (9)

26: Ch1 (sc2tog) x4, ss in last sc

Finish off.

Using white yarn ss into sc front loops and sc in each front loop around. Fasten off.

Repeat in each row of sc front loops.

Medium Pine Tree

Using green yarn and crochet hook size E- 3.5mm

  1. Ch2

  2. 5sc in the second ch from the hook (5) – working in rounds No-slip stitching

  3. 2sc in each sc around (10)

  4. 2sc in each sc around (20)

  5. (sc in next 2sc, 2sc in next sc) x6, sc in next 2sc (26)

  6. Sc in each around (26) – start slip stitching (ss) skipping ch1 and ss to first sc

  7. Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (26)

  8. Ch1, sc in each sc around (26)

  9. Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (26)

  10. Ch1 (sc2tog, sc in next 6 sc) x3, sc2tog (22)

  11. Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (22)

  12. Ch1 (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) x3, sc in next 4sc (19)

  13. Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (19)

Finish off.

Using white yarn ss into sc front loops and sc in each front loop around. Fasten off.

Small Pine Tree

Using green yarn and crochet hook size E- 3.5mm

  1. Ch2

  2. 4sc in the second ch from the hook (4)  – working in rounds No-slip stitching

  3. 2sc in each sc around (8)

  4. 2sc in each sc around (16)

  5. (2sc in next sc, sc in next 2sc) x5, 2sc in last sc (22)

  6. Sc in each sc around (22) – start slip stitching (ss) skipping ch1 and ss to first sc

  7. Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (22)

  8. Ch1, sc in each sc around (22)

  9. Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (22)

  10. Ch1 (sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog) x2, sc in next 6sc (20)

  11. Ch1 sc in each sc back loops around (20)

  12. Ch1 (sc2tog, sc in next 4sc) x3, sc2tog (16)

  13. Ch1, sc in each sc back loops around (16) – stuff the tree with fiberfill

Easy crochet pine trees winter wonderland scene

 

Now, crochet as many pine trees as you desire for your winter wonderland scene. Also, cut out a circle out of felt, as big as the cake stand. Finally, arrange all the pieces together and here, you have a beautiful crochet Christmas decor. You may also like to crochet lovebirds to add to the scene and that would work as a perfect crochet Valentine’s Day decor.

  1. Thank you for you lovely tree patterns. I have begun making the large pine tree. The math doesn’t add up from row 4 to row 5. Row 4 has 24 stitches. Row 5 instruction is to “(2sc in next sc, sc in next 2sc) x4 (32)” that is 3 stitches worked 4 times makes 12 worked stitches. Not sure what to do here? any help you can provide would be much appreciated. I shall start a different size tree and see how I go. kind regards, Sharon
