Cut the yarn leaving a long tail. Stitch the opening closed and fasten off.
You can crochet more eggs in different colors. I think they would be perfect to use for crochet Easter decor.
WINGS and TAIL
If you are planning to sew on the pieces to the body, make sure to leave a long tail of yarn with every piece. I think hot gluing is the easier process of assembling all the pieces.
Using the yellow yarn and G crochet hook, make 3 pieces.
1: ch2
2: 4sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sl st to the first sc
3: ch1, 2sc in each sc around, sl st to the first sc (8)
4: ch1, 2sc in each sc around, sl st to the first sc (16).
Fasten off.
FEET
Using the orange yarn and G crochet hook, make 2 pieces.
1: ch2
2: 4sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sl st to the first sc
3: ch1, 2sc in each sc around, sl st to the first sc (8)
Fasten off.
BEAK
Using the orange yarn and yarn needle embroider the beak in a triangle shape.
Sew on two black beads to make up the EYES.
SPIKES – cut two 6” long pieces of yarn and weave them into the top of the egg. Trim the spikes to desired length.
