Let’s get ready for DIY felt daisy placemats and coasters!
So, cutting felt is a pure joy! You can use sharp detail scissors and do it by hand or use the Cricut machine. Using the Cricut machine is extra helpful, especially if you need to cut a large number of pieces. You can find a free SVG file in my resource library for you to use.
If you cut out the pieces by hand, pin the printed paper template to the felt very well, so it won’t shift.

To applique the daisy pieces one on the other, you need to use the zig zag stitch on your sewing machine. Also, because the pieces are in different colors, you need to rethread your machine a few times to a different color of thread. Before appliqueing the pieces, make sure you pin the pieces you work at the time together, so they will stay in place.
Lastly, as you probably see, the steps you take to make the placemats are the same as to make coasters. All right! Have fun crafting! I am happy to share how to DIY felt daisy placemats and coasters!
Step 1. Cut all the pieces out of the felt. For each placemat and coaster, you need two green circles, one yellow and white flower piece.
Step 2. First, applique the yellow center to the white flower piece.
Step 3. Then, pin and applique just the yellow and white piece to one green circle.

Step 4. From here, pin and zig zag the two green circles together.
And that’s it! Wasn’t that a super easy project?
