Are you ready to learn how to DIY Tinkerbell fairy costume?

So, let’s start with the dress.

Step 1. Take the tulle and unroll it in 28” long strips placing each strip on top of the other.

Step 2. Using a blade cutter, cut the ends of the stacked tulle in an angle, as shown in the picture.

Step 3. Pull the crochet headband tutu top on some round object, that way it will be easier to weave the tulle strips through. If anybody is curious, I used a massage bolster to do so.

Step 4. Get one of the dark green tulle strips, fold in half and push through a hole above a first row square.

Now, take both ends of the strip and push it through the loop and tighten the knot.

Step 5. Repeat Step 3 weaving in dark green strips through every hole above a first row square.

Step 6. Now, weave in the light green tulle strips through holes above every other, second row squares.

And, there you just made a tutu skirt for DIY Tinkerbell fairy costume!

Let’s get into making a wand now.

Step 1. Cut two stars out of golden felt and pin them together. Stitch it around using a zig zag stitch and leave 1/4” opening in one of the star’s notches.

Step 2. Cut three 16-18” long ribbons, fold them in half and push the fold into the star opening.

Step 3. Put one squeeze of hot glue into the opening and stick the dowel in. You can trim the ribbons to your desired length.

And, you are a pinch of fairy dust away from DIY Tinkerbell fairy costume!

Now, the fairy needs a cute pair of shoes with sparkly and fluffy pom poms, about 2”- 2.5” big. You can buy them HERE or you can make them yourself by following a tutorial, that you will find HERE.

If you bought the same flats that I did for my daughter, just disattach the bow and hot glue the pom poms instead.

Be creative with what you want for the hair. You can glue some green and white felt and regular buttons to a plain headband, as I did.

And, done!
