My new DIY felt apple coasters design uses embroidery thread to stitch the pieces together. You can also make the apple coaster with a bite. The third option is to embroider a text on one piece of the apple. In my case, it makes a nice handmade Teacher Appreciation Day gift idea. What you need for a DIY felt apple coaster pattern

red color felt, also you can use green color felt

green and brown felt for leaf and stem

embroidery thread in matching red or green felt color

embroidery needle

Let’s follow my step-by-step tutorial on DIY felt apple coasters
Step 1. Gather all materials and print the apple templates from my free resource library. Using detailed scissors, cut out the apple coaster pieces. You need two felt apple pieces for one coaster.
First, you can start making the basic apple coaster.
Step 2. Align the two apple pieces together and pin them. Pin the stem and the leaf between the two apple pieces. Using embroidery thread and blanket stitch, stitch the edges of the pieces together.
Step 3. Finish off by making a knot on top of the last stitch. Then, push the needle between the felt layers of the apple and cut off the excess thread.
And that’s it. It’s a super easy and quick felt sewing craft.
To make the apple coaster with a bite, follow the instructions above. You will find the apple with a bite template in my resource library.
To make the apple coaster with the embroidery on top, you need to embroider the text on one of the apple pieces first. Then, follow the instructions for the basic DIY apple coaster.
