Let’s learn how to sew a heart decor wall hanging out of felt first.
Step 1. Cut two large hearts out of red felt and one medium heart out of denim fabric. You can machine wash and dry the denim heart to get fringy edges. Cut the small heart out of paper and trace the outline into the denim medium heart using a fabric pencil.
Step 2. Using a straight stitch on your machine, stitch over the small heart outline. Run the stitch a few times and a little off the outline for a more whimsical look.
Step 3. Pin the denim heart to one felt heart and stitch about 1/4 inch from the edge. Use a straight stitch and stitch a few times around.
Step 4. Cut about 18″ long cotton cord and make a knot with the raw ends. Pin the cord between the two felt hearts at the marked spot. Stitch the two felt heart pieces together using a zig-zag stitch. Stuff the heart with fiberfill before stitching it closed.
