Get my free angel ornament template and make an icicle angel ornament using felt. A perfect felt Christmas ornament to decorate your home or a handmade gift idea.
I love making crafts and projects using felt. It doesn’t fry and it comes in many colors. Also, felt can be available in a premium version, like the Kunin brand. The premium version is thicker and works nicely for sturdier projects. You can make beautiful Christmas ornaments out of felt. My newest felt project is an icicle angel ornament. Let’s follow a step-by-step tutorial on how to make an icicle angel ornament using felt.
Step 1. Prepare all the materials. Cut out all the pieces using the desired color felt.
Step 2. First, embroider eyelids and lips on the round face felt piece.
Step 3. Use a matching color embroidery thread to blanket stitch the face piece to one body piece.
Step 4. Align the two body pieces together and the halo piece in between. Pin to keep all pieces in place. Using a blanket stitch, stitch the pieces together. Start stitching on the side of the angel’s body. Before stitching it close stuff a bit of fiberfill inside the body. Use a pointy object, like a chopstick to push the fiberfill to the narrow part of the body.
Step 5. Use a backstitch to stitch the wings to the back of the angel. Start stitching from the bottom of the wings. Make a 2-3-inch loop on top of the wings. Make a knot with the loop as close as possible to the wings. Finish off and secure the tread behind one of the wings.
