Follow my free spiral doily crochet pattern and learn how to crochet a beautiful beaded ruffled doily! Perfect free crochet table decor idea!
I found that beautiful lacy doilies are used to decorate tables. In the country where I come from, they are also used to cover Easter baskets with blessed food. I was in need of a nice cloth cover for my basket so I designed my spiral doily crochet pattern.
Also, to make it more festive I crochet beads into the last row of the doily. And, here is a picture of my Easter basket with food that is blessed on Holy Saturday. Now, the doily measures 11” in diameter and there are about 12 yards of the thread left. If you want to crochet the last row with beads before finishing the ball of thread, you need to do it in round 15. There will be not enough thread to crochet the last beaded row in round 16. At the end of the pattern, it shows how to crochet the last row with beads.
16. ch1, sc in first 3sc, ch3, 2sc in ch3 sp,

Now, the doily measures 14” in diameter and there are about 33.5 yards left of the thread.
Cut the thread but leave about 19 yards long tail. Then, thread the 48 beads on the left thread tail. Slide all the beads closer to the doily and make a ball with the rest of the thread.
Since the beads will be crochet just over the ch3, they will move to the RS of the doily. So, keep holding your doily project RS toward you.
23. ch1, sc in every sc, and 3sc in each ch3 sps around.
Before yo to make sc in ch3 sp, slide one bead close to the crochet project. Then, yo and complete sc.
As you see in the pictures above, the beads move to the RS of the doily. It’s because they are crochet over an open ch sps.
