Learn how to DIY daisy spring wreath to brighten your door following my detailed step by step tutorial! Make the wait for warm and sunny weather more enjoyable with this bright front door spring wreath!
Daisies are one of many wildflowers that remind me of my childhood back in Poland. I used to pick them and weave into a head crown or pluck the petals and play “he loves me…he loves me not” game 😊. I guess DIY daisy spring wreath can take me back in time and bring some nostalgia with itself. And now, onto the project! Let’s get ready for making a spring wreath with daisy flowers!
Since you need a bunch of daisies for the wreath, then I highly recommend Cricut Maker to cut the flower pieces. It will save you lots of time and the free, ready to use SVG file can be found in my resource library. Also, Jennifer at jennifermaker.com has great posts on how to use Cricut machines and they are beginner-friendly.
If you decided to stick to hand cutting the flower pieces, make sure you have sharp scissors! And, follow my little tutorial:
Step 1. Pin the printed paper flower template to the white felt and cut it around close to the tops of each petal.
Step 2. Cut out the petals from the top to the one inside and repeat on the other side of the petals.
In my opinion, that’s the easiest and fastest way to hand cut the daisy petals. Also, if you didn’t notice, the one daisy flower template is slightly smaller then the other and goes on top of the bigger one. I think it makes the finished flower look fuller and more dimensional.

Learn How to make felt daisy for DIY daisy spring wreath.
Step 1. Cut out two petal flower pieces out of white felt and two center pieces out of yellow felt. Also, thread hand needle with matching yellow thread.
Step 2. Using a blanket stitch, stitch the yellow center pieces together, and do not cut the thread.
Step 3. Align the smaller petal piece on top of the bigger and the petals are between each other. Put the yellow center on top and stitch the pieces together, tacking around on the yellow center close to the edge.
Step 4. Secure the stitch by making a knot on the back of the flower and cut the thread.
Make as many daisies for your wreath as you like.
How to cover Styrofoam with fabric for DIY daisy spring wreath
Step 1. Cut your green quilting fabric into two 8” wide strips and stitch one of each piece’s 8” edges right side together. Iron the seam flat and cut the just sewn piece to be 52” long.
Step 2. Stitch the other short edges, right side together, and iron the seam flat.
Step 3. Now, fold the long edges ½” to the wrong side and iron it flat.
Step 4. Arrange the fabric cover around the wreath from the inside and pin the folded edges on the outside of the wreath. Having the folded edges as a guide, blind stitch the fabric cover around the foam wreath. Finish off and shift the cover that the seam will be on the back of the wreath.
And, there! That’s how to cover a Styrofoam wreath with quilting fabric to make a wreath base.
Now, let’s finish off the easy DIY daisy spring wreath!
Step 1. Cut about 22” long thin ribbon, fold it in half and make a knot with the raw edges.
Step 2. Weave the knotted end of the ribbon through the loop around the wreath and tighten up.
Step 3. Hot glue all the daisies to the fabric-covered wreath base as you wish. I glued one daisy on top because I wanted the ribbon to be covered.
Done!
My beautiful spring wreath with daisies is already decorating the door to my home and it’s brightening the dark hallway.
